More and more people are using drones to visualise their facilities, infrastructure and events. 3D models are a perfect way to display your imagery in a dynamic, interactive way.
Unleash live’s modelling solutions are browser-enabled, allowing the viewer to navigate on most devices without having to download any apps. This empowers the field operator with the same powerful tools as the office worker.
To help you make the most of your models we will guide you through the best ways to view your models in your browser.
Where do I find my models?
Your models are housed in your Library along with all your other media content.
Once you have clicked the models' menu your models will be loaded, this may take some time depending on your internet connection. All models are timestamped, and device-related. It should display the latest model first. Click on the desired model to open the folder. The first image you will see is the 2D stitched orthophoto of your images, providing you with a powerful map that can be zoomed in and out for inspection and progress reporting.

Use the + and — icons to zoom in and out, scroll with the mouse or pinch with the trackpad. Similarly, click and hold to drag the map to the location your want to inspect.
3D Model
Choose the model type once Models has been selected. Simply click on the menu to reveal the list of model types; 3D Model, VR Model and Point Cloud.

Depending on the size and number of images uploaded and your internet connection the 3D model will take a short time to reveal itself the first time.
- Enlarge or reduce the size of the 3D model by pinching and spreading your fingers on the trackpad or scrolling in and out with the mouse.
- To rotate and spin the model click, hold and drag the mouse or trackpad, allowing you to navigate to the point you intend to inspect.
- Change the axis point with a right click and drag. This will allow you to move the model so you can view your landscape or structure from a different perspective.
VR Model
To truly immerse yourself in the landscape of your 3D model click on the VR Model and watch your images come to life.

This in-browser VR experience is driven by gaze points dotted around the VR Model, simply click on a location and you will begin to move towards that point. During your journey feel free to look around to take in the scenery and when you arrive at your destination point and click to start a new one.
- Click on the google icon in the bottom right-hand corner to step into your VR Model
- Click ‘ESC’ when you are ready to escape and return to your browser controls
You will notice that if you click on ground-based objects your journey will take you below ground. Our VR experience is a layered one, allowing you to customise the output with multiple layers, demonstrating the relationship between above-ground and below-ground structures.

Point Cloud
The Point Cloud is a highly accurate engineering tool used to extract measurements and volumes from your images. This model consists of millions of data points arranged according to the image coordinates and an origin point.
- Enlarge or reduce the size of the 3D model by pinching and spreading your fingers on the trackpad or scrolling in and out with the mouse.
- To rotate and spin the model click, hold and drag the mouse or trackpad, allowing you to navigate to the point you intend to inspect.

To unlock the measuring tool kit click on the hamburger icon in the top left corner.
Take your time to make yourself familiar with the measurement tools within the tool kit, click on a measuring icon and choose a point on your point cloud to reveal the height, size and length.
Measure the distance, volume and cross-sections of your model.
Once you have completed a task use the ‘ESC’ key to click out and move your way around your model.
